A Global Look at Housing Affordability

In a previous post we examined housing "affordability" with a focus on the United States.  Concern about housing costs and their relationships to income and other consumer characteristics.

Readers of this post will want to read that companion post on its own but also in order to take in some general discussion about definition of terms and so on.

Recently University College London (UCL) put on a terrific conference entitled The Case of Affordable Housing: A Global Perspective on Financing and Institutional Ownership.

I was honored to give the keynote address; you can watch it here on YouTube.

I have an associated PowerPoint presentation, that's contains the slides I used for my presentation; plus a few more, including extensive references.  You can download that file here.  Many of the PowerPoint slides contain explanatory notes, that you can find below the slides themselves when you open them.

More on this topic soon -- I'll expand this blog post in due course.
